Every riddle starts with a sentence. Usually someone in the middle of a meeting saying, “What if the answer is actually inside the question?”
1. The idea
We get ideas on paper fast. The goal here is quantity, not quality.
2. Sketch and prototype
Promising ideas become a rough prototype. We only know whether a riddle works once we play it.
3. Playtest
We test inside the team and with groups of players. What we listen for most is the moment a player laughs when they find the answer.
A good riddle tricks you, but it never cheats you.
4. Polish
In the last step we grow the “aha!” moment with timing, sound and animation. Then we test again.
